The Market Just Tested Me. Here’s Why I Didn’t Flinch.

Recently I watched my net worth drop more than it ever has in the six years since I started this journey in March 2020. Then a few weeks later it bounced back, and then some. The biggest gain I had ever seen. The wildest swing of my entire investing life, in the space of a few weeks.

I want to share this because there is something nobody tells you when you start. When we talk about financial freedom, we are not talking about a few thousand euro in savings. We are talking hundreds of thousands. Eventually millions. And the swings that come with portfolios that size are not a few hundred euro up or down. They are tens of thousands. Sometimes more. That is a lot of money to watch move around.

If you do not understand what is actually happening, you will panic when the market drops. You will sell at the worst possible moment. And you will miss the rebounds that quietly build the real wealth. What happened to me is not unusual. It is the price of admission for long-term stock market returns. If you are invested in your pension through Irish Life, Zurich or Mercer and you checked your portal during a bad month, you probably saw the same thing. The difference is whether it makes you want to pull out or stay the course.

“Normal” only feels normal if you know what you are doing. That is why I keep banging on about education before action. The people who make it to financial freedom are not the ones who picked the best fund or timed the perfect entry. They are the ones who understood enough not to flinch when things got wild.

Here is something you can do this week. Next time you see a headline about markets crashing, open your pension or investment account. Do not touch anything. Just look at the number and notice how it makes you feel. That reaction tells you a lot about whether you have the understanding to back up the plan.

If you would like help building that understanding, here is a short video on what I actually do: https://go.bamillionaire.com/watch-now. Or if you are ready, book a call: https://go.bamillionaire.com/apply
