My Current Account Hit €7,350. Here Is Why I Wasn’t Worried
On Monday night I showed 26 people a spreadsheet I had never shown anyone.
Every month since I left Salesforce. What came in, what went out, what reached my bank account.
Here is the headline number.
€185,259 in revenue over 23 months.
That sounds like a business.
Across those two years I paid myself €105,000. My family spends about €9,000 a month.
So the business didn’t cover our life. My last payslip from Salesforce covered part of the gap. And I sold about €65,000 of my own investments to cover the rest.
At one point my current account was down to €7,350. Less than I had as a student.
And I wasn’t worried. Here’s why.
The months
October 2024 was my first real month. €4,451 in revenue.
January 2025 nearly reached €11,000, and €3,500 of that was one 30 minute talk for Google. I came off that call thinking I had found the business. It never happened again at that price.
February 2025: €2,756.
Nothing spectacular went wrong in February. I just didn’t earn as much. It happens.
For the first eleven months, not one month cleared €11,000.
Then December 2025. Minus €954. I had been sending invoices where I should have sent quotes, so revenue I had already counted turned out not to be real, and correcting it pushed the month below zero.
I also put more than €6,000 into Facebook and Instagram ads and got maybe €1,500 back.
Then July 2026 was my first €20,000 month. €20,101.
My 22nd month in business.
What paid for those 22 months
For fourteen years I earned well and kept almost none of it.
Then in March 2020 I changed what I did with my money. I worked out what I needed. I tracked what I spent. I sorted my pension. I invested the rest.
Four years later I could walk away from a job that was making me ill.
And when my new business didn’t pay enough, I had the money to keep going.
I was confident it would work. I just didn’t know how long it would take me. But I’d built enough room to find out.
I could afford to be wrong.
You might never want to start a business
Maybe you want to change jobs. Go to four days. Take six months. Or stop reading every layoff email with your stomach dropping.
The first steps are the same ones I took in 2020.
And those steps changed what was possible for me.
That’s why I built the Money Mastery Membership.
Six live Wednesday sessions, starting 30 September. Eight Q&A calls so nobody gets stuck. A community of people doing the same work, plus every template and tracker I use myself.
And you’ll get to see monthly updates of my own personal numbers.
We work out your freedom number, track your spending, sort your pension, check whether Revenue owes you money before the October deadline, and build your investment plan.
Then we put a system in place that takes under an hour a month to run.
It’s the work I started doing in 2020, and the work I’ve spent two years teaching one person at a time.
The total cost for the two month programme is €400. The founding cohort is capped at 50 places and doors close Friday 25 September.

Three questions for this weekend
What do you spend in an average month?
How much could you actually get your hands on, counting cash and what you could sell, after the tax and costs of selling it?
Divide the second by the first.
That’s roughly how many months you could cover yourself without an income. Do you know your number?
